After joining together for the second half of the 2017 UK Renault Clio Cup, I am delighted to have renewed my partnership with CGS Consultants Ltd for the 2018 season in the British Touring Car Championship. From what started as support on a personal level for 2017, the BTCC has opened the door to a commercial opportunity for CGS and 2018 heralds a whole new package which MBR and Team HARD. Racing has to offer.
Chris Burnell of CGS said "CGS Consultants are delighted to extend the relationship forged in the Clio Cup and continue to be involved with Mike and MBR on his return to the BTCC. Having been crowned a double champion and proven to be a fantastic driver, it is great to see him where he belongs. With the support of Team HARD, I fully expect to see him challenging at the front of the pack throughout the season".
"Being a huge BTCC fan, getting involved with MBR and Team HARD is an easy choice. They have a strong business support network which provided opportunities to meet with other like-minded companies working in similar and complementary industries. The central aspect being a love of racing the BTCC in particular. Team HARD also have an ethos of support and development of their drivers; something that CGS can relate to".
"My son Spencer has Autism, amongst other additional needs, which can make family time with my daughter Grace extremely challenging as his needs inevitably overshadow most events. The BTCC is something that we all enjoy and provides an ideal opportunity for us all to spend time together doing something as a family and being 'normal'. Mike and MBR have been fantastic in recognising our particular needs and providing us with access to both him and the team to satisfy Spencer’s curiosity and make the day even more enjoyable. Mike also recognised the role Grace plays in Spencer’s life and has provided her with access to assist with the preparation of his car and provided personalised clothing for her – something that she has enjoyed pointing out to her friends! On a personal level we are extremely grateful to Mike for being a so understanding and going out of his way to help our racing weekends become even more enjoyable. Although it may seem odd given the noise and smells associated with the BTCC, we have found it to be a fantastic environment for Spencer and thank Mike and the wider BTCC community for making us feel 'normal' – an achievement not to be underestimated for those of us with additional needs children!"
